Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. A beautifully bound volumes, in full leather with raised cords, ornately decorated spine panels, swirling hand stamped gold decorations and titles on the cover. Pages edges gilt. A masterful piece of work. Printed, decorative endpapers. Heavy paper, each page with a detailed engraving printed on it. They are hand-numbered in pencil at the top of the page, from 1-100, then there are 3 more without numbers and a final one cut from another source and pasted to a blank page at the rear. The engravings are similar to Piranesi's famous views of Rome, but they are not copies. Many of the engravings are signed by the printer, Cuccioni. They are all identified on the plate, as to what they show. The penciled numbers at the top of the pages are cut in half in many instances, evidence that the binder cut down the book. The current dimensions are 6.5" x 8.5". The engravings themselves are 3" x 4.5" on a plate that is about an inch bigger in both dimensions. Achille Parbone and Tommaso Cuccioni are the artists. This was printed in the very early 1800s. There is some foxing here and there in the wide margins, but very rarely on the plates themselves. Quite good condition overall, in a fancy binding.

Nuova Raccolta di vedute antiche e moderne e della città di Roma con 100 incisioni di monumenti? e la presente raccolta ?il Numero cento vedute di Roma e sue vicinanze?. Dal 1852 iniziò la produzione di fotografie d'arte e di monumenti romani. Nel 1862 partecipò alla Grande esposizione di Londra.  Macchia d'umido 1-2 cm nel margine superiore bianco di una ventina di tavole, qualche macchietta rossa, tavole ben inchiostrate, esemplare marginoso. Bella raccolta di vedute di alcuni dei luoghi più suggestivi di Roma e delle sue vicinanze. Edición original de este álbum conteniendo 102 vistas de Roma y sus edificaciones según diseños de Piranesi, grabadas al aguafuerte por Tommaso Cuccioni y Achile Parboni. La huella de los grabados es de 107 x 130)mm. Nota explicativa de cada lámina al pie. Muchas de las láminas con el nombre del editor y grabador Tommaso Cuccioni, quien dejó su trabajo como grabador en 1851 para comenzar una exitosa carrera como fotógrafo. Muy bien ejemplar de amplios márgenes e impresión nítida, muy ligero óxido marginal en alguna ocasional, pero generalmente muy limpio. Completo de sus 102 láminas, muchos de los ejemplares consultados contienen una lámina menos (ver Christie's Roma, 15 de diciembre de 2005, lote 79). Referencias: Borroni 8288 165x214mm. (6½x8½").
