Loose Bound in Folder. Zustand: Very Good. First Edition. 4 4-sided leaflets, contained in a 4 sided card folder, printed in red & black. Undated but c1960. Also laid in is a 4 sdied leaflet - A Leaflet for Students of Typography - A Printing Type; and a 1 page leaflet - A Comparison of large and small face types. Minor wear, unmarked. No Binding. Zustand: Near Fine. Two complete sets of the Monotype Corporation 'Type Study Leaflets' in their folders, mostly printed in black and red. 1. Early issue, ND, in a folder explaining 'This folder of directions together with its contents is now being offered at 6d. for the benefit of the St. Bride Printing Library Fund', comprising the complete set 'ALPHABETS', 'WHAT'S THAT TYPEFACE?' (2 copies) and 'A LEAFLET FOR STUDENTS OF TYPOGRAPHY', each 4pp. additional sheet with p3 of the LEAFLET printed to the recto. 2. Later issue (entirely redesigned and reset), ND, in a folder titled 'Student's type study leaflets', comprising the complete set '1 Letter Forms', '2 Proportions', '3 The Metal Type' and '4 Planning a Printed Job'. A useful, and (naturally) beautifully-designed ready-reference. The earlier set in particular is quite scarce. Near Fine (a couple of areas of light foxing and a light crease to the foot of the second set's folder).

Binder. Zustand: Very Good. No Jacket. Four single fold leaflets in fine condition, enclosed in a thin card folder with just a few signs of shelf wear. No date but still uses British standard paper sizes, therefore likely to around 1960. No Jacket as such. Folder: cream coloured card with black lettering and red side stripes to front and rear, and cream coloured lettering on front red stripe; very clean and sound; slightest darkening and bumping to edges, and inked letter K to top front fore-corner, but overall in excellent condition for its age. Internally: 4 single fold leaflets with black and red lettering and black and white illustrations all on cream coloured paper.

Paperback. Zustand: Fine. Not Stated (illustrator). A sizeable collection of many incredibly scarce typography specimen books, including titles on offset printing and filmsetting. A collection of predominantly incredibly scarce titles, including numerous typography specimen booklets, including duplicates of Optima, Sabon-Antiqua, Melior.Several of these titles feature monochrome vignette illustrations, such as volume 10, which is comprised of 4 small booklets, which are contained within its original wallet.Volumes 14 and 15 feature colour detail and illustration, withvolume 23 also featuring several vibrant colour illustrations.Sabon-Antiqua is primarily written in German.Sabon-Antiqua booklets are both comprised of a long folding sheet, and a single loose double-sided page of text.Both Melior titles are staple-bound, and featuring a folding page of text.Volume 19 contains a selection of further booklets and typography samples.This collection also features a printed quote on the discipline of typography from French artist and writer Maximilien Vox. Bound in original paper covers. Externally, exceptionally smart. Slight strain to vol13 hinges. Slight shelf wear to vol13 and vol14 extremities. Graze to vol23 rear cover. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean. Mild pencil notations to vol13. Fine. book.
