Copy no. 664 from 750 printed. The book was the first step made by Stanley Morison (1889 - 1967), a British typographer and historian of printing, to improve standards of printing. The volume contains a range of good types available to the public at the time divided into three broad groups: Venetian School, Old Face School, and Titling Letter. A specimen of each type is given accompanied by notes on its history and use.
