The story concerns an Englishman impersonating a German officer who forms a great friendship with one of the enemy and the moral conflicts that arise therefrom.

Very nice copy A brief novella by the translator of All Quiet on the Western Front, drawn from an episode in his own experiences of that front where he served with the 54th battalion, A.I.F. (14th Bde., 5th Australian Div.) and was awarded the Military Medal (and two bars) for bravery.
