SECOND EDITION 1748, but first English edition, first published in Spain in 1746. 8vo, approximately 200 x 120 mm, 8 x 5 inches, 9 folding engraved plates, (plate 9 misplaced before plate 8), pages: xxiii, 1-341, plus 3 pages of adverts, old calf covers with a new spine, gilt lettered label and date on spine. Boards rubbed and scuffed, wear to edges of boards with loss of leather, repair to fold on blank side of frontispiece map with special paper tape, small chip to 1 margin neatly repaired, nowhere near text, occasional age-browning to text, most text clean, a good tight copy. This work was first published in Spanish, under the title "Individual y Verdadera Relacion de la extrema ruyna que padeciò la Ciudad de los Reyes Lima," by Pedro Lozano (Sabin 42590). It was anonymously translated into English by Henry Johnson.
