LP 30 cm. OCover mit Portraits des Komponisten. Cover und Platte tadellos. Historische Aufnahmen - für Radiosendungen der CBS 1940 auf Acetatplatten geschnitten und hier erstmals im Handel. "Originally cut for CBS radio broadcast this recording, with the special cooperation of Peter Bartók, was cleared for commerical release, which by no means was the intent at the time of the broadcast. It was not recorded under ideal circumstances and the passing of years has not been kind to the original acetates from which the commercial masters had to be prepared. However, this Bartók record to us is a historical document[.]" (Covertext). Selten. Sprache: en.

In den WarenkorbFirst UK Bloomsbury edition, first printing of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, signed by J.K. Rowling on the half-title page. As with the vast majority of signed copies of this title, most known examples were signed during Rowling's large-scale steam train tour in the summer of 2000 and bear her signature on the dedication page. Signatures on the half-title page are significantly scarcer, typically associated with later literary festivals, private signings, or special appearances rather than mass signing events. This copy was signed by J.K. Rowling during the Edinburgh International Book Festival in 2004, a context in which comparatively few books were signed, and where placement on the half-title page is notably uncommon. A near fine copy with light signs of handling only. The lower spine end is slightly compressed with a faint crease, and the dust jacket shows a very subtle degree of fading toward the spine. Otherwise a clean and well-preserved copy, free from stains, tears or writing. The binding remains firm and square, and the pages are clean. A desirable and genuinely scarce signed example of the fourth instalment in the Harry Potter series, distinguished by its unusual placement of the signature and its association with a recognised literary festival rather than a mass signing event. Accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity (LoA) from Adam Houston (TheHarryPotterSpecialist), the world's sole expert on J.K. Rowling's signature, confirming the authenticity of the signature.

Harry Price founded the National Laboratory of Psychical Research in 1926 as a rival to the Society of Psychical Research, aiming to provide a more scientific analysis of supernatural occurrences. One of Price's most famous cases was that of the medium Helen Duncan. In 1930 Price paid Duncan the significant sum of £50 to undergo several months of scientific tests on her séances, during which, and despite many attempts at redirection on Duncan's behalf, they proved the ectoplasm she would notoriously produce to be instead regurgitated cheese cloth and egg white soaked paper. Two works, octavo. Original wrappers, printed in brown. Supplement with original glassine. Price obscured on main catalogue, glassine somewhat chipped; excellent copies.

First edition. Broadside song sheet, 8 3/4 x 5 3/4 inches (trimmed to edge of ornamental border), printing five verses and a chorus in two columns separated by a thin rule, and enclosed within a wide ornamental and illustrated border, with pictorial scenes in each corner, one featuring an African American playing a banjo. Abraham Lincoln ("now is in de chair"), General Winfield Scott, and Major Anderson (the defender of Fort Sumter) are featured in the lyrics. "De Union now must be preserved, And treat Traitors as they deserve, Hang them up, hang them up." What little information we could find about Harry Fox seems to indicate that he was a Caucasian performing in blackface rather than an African American. OCLC locates two copies (Emory, New York Historical Society). Folded (browned, one archival tape repair on verso, some edgewear); still a good copy of an early Civil War song composed by an African American. (8599).
