The now scarce Poems from Belmontwas his first collection of poetry, with a few poems referencing his local area. InThree Journeys, now an uncommon work, Dodd explores the Marxist way of materialism, popular Freudian psychology, and the way of the spirit.The set comprises: Poems from Belmont(1955, The Fortune Press, first edition) and Three Journeys(1958, The Fortune Press, first edition). In the publisher's original cloth bindings, with the original unclipped dust wrappers. Externally, smart. Small bump to the edge of the front board to 'Poems from Belmont'. A little fading to the spine lettering of 'Three Journeys'. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for the odd spot to the first and last couple of pages to 'Poems from Belmont'. Dust wrappers are generally smart with a little chipping to the head and tail of the spine.
