In den WarenkorbCloth. Zustand: Very Good. None (illustrator). A scarce edition of this charming story from Valentine, with two original unclipped dust wrappers. Scarce work. Dated from the British Library. Two original unclipped dust wrappers. When the leader of a Mayfair set that flings money around like its water falls in love with a young man whose chief occupation is getting his father to adjust his overdrafts, their parents decide to get involved. What follows is an exciting gamble on a treasure hunt and a charming story. Written by Valentine, the pseudonym of Archibald Thomas Percy, an English lyricist and novelist whose pen name was derived from his mother's family the Vallentins. In the original red cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear and minor rubbing to the extremities. Original unclipped dust wrappers are sound with shelf wear and chipping to the extremities. One has loss to the head and tail of the spine, with a tear to the front board which has detached the corner of the board. The other has loss to the tail of the spine and a 3" closed tear to the front board. Both are slightly discoloured with sunning to the spine and the odd mark to the board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout with the odd spot to the first and last few pages. Very Good. book.
