The spine clean but faded with some bumping top and bottom. The binding is reasonably firm, however there is some flexibility and cracking. The pages are tanned with some staining and foxing, the text is clean, there is a dedication penned to the ffep dated 1919. This book has 142 pages. All in all a nice example of this book.

With the black and pink dust-jacket designed by Jozef Gross, priced at 12/6, and re-priced with a sticker to 15s. Just a hint of toning to jacket spine, with some very light general rubbing. Fine. The second half of a surprisingly conventional tale from Verne, pitting an Abolitionist Northerner against a slave-owning Southerner. First published in French in 1887, and translated into English the same year.

Publisher's blue cloth with black titles, and orange and green decoration to spine and upper. With the illustrated dust-jacket priced at 1/6. Heavily browned cheap paper stock. Bookplate of Curtiss Taylor to front pastedown. Jacket toned, more heavily to spine, and a few millimetres short. One small chip to tail of spine, and one large loss to back cover. Rare thus. Near fine. The second part of 'North Against South' (1887), first published in this separate edition in 1891.
