FIRST EDITION, pp. 480, crown 8vo, original red boards, backstrip lettered in gilt and faded, trace of label removal at foot, the front endpapers with library label of Woodbrooke Library with a couple of other markings - including their 'Discarded' stamp, good. Inscribed by the author on the flyleaf: 'Eric Tucker, With friendly greetings from Vera Brittain, June 1957'. The Woodbrooke Library label on the facing pastedown records it as having been the donation of the recipient's wife, Kathleen Tucker. Though ex-library, the markings are restricted to the endpapers. The Tuckers were friends of Brittain's from the Peace Pledge Union.
