In den WarenkorbQuarter red cloth, boards covered in paper overprinted with a border design by Peter Burnhill; binding by Ludlow Bookbinders. Edition limited to 120 numbered copies. Thomas Edward Lawrence (1888-1935) first met the future Field Marshal Archibald Percival Wavell (1883-1950, created 1943 first Earl Wavell) on the day of General Edmund Allenby's triumphant entry into Jerusalem, 11 December 1917. His letters largely concern Seven Pillars of Wisdom. "'Incomplete' because there are not all the illustrations," Lawrence inscribes a copy to Wavell of the Subscribers' Edition on publication day, 1926: "you have the whole text, and about half the plates. These incompletes are really a special edition, made to be given to the people who did this show with me. That explains why you are being burdened with it. I feel apologetic, whenever I give one to anyone who knows: this record feels so partial, and incompetent and poor.".
