Casimir Oudin (1638-1717), French premonstratense historian, entered into friendly relations with Pierre Jurieu ("le fameux ministre Jurrieu"), went out of favour with clerical authorities, and was imprisoned in the abbey at Ressons. He escaped and fled to Leiden in 1690. Oudin embraced the protestant religion and was appointed assistant librarian at Leiden university.
