Blind-stamped brown cloth covers clean, corners rubbed, sp.ends relaid, sm.label ghost to bottom. Despite faults a very acceptable copy of this scarce early Bain work which was not well received at the time, not least due to his sympathies towards phrenology which had already ceased to be taken seriously. I don't think he ever returned to it.
