Gray paper covers with full page color paste-down on the front. This copy is split, unfortunately. The back cover is detached. Also, part of the the rear endpaper is torn (when the cover came off, part of the endpaper remained with the text block -- there is very little loss of endpaper, but it would take a neat repair to put it back together seamlessly). Pages are clean, and nicely attached (sewn) together and to front cover. Paper missing from the spine, revealing sewn linen backing. Early ownership name on the inside front cover (in the blank where you are supposed to write your name). Measures just over 5.5 x 7 inches. The Uncle Wiggily series was enormously popular for more than a decade and has been collectible ever since. Garis published a story every day for many many years. They were first collected into book form in 1920, when Graham & Co issued 6 all at once -- this is one of those original 6. Scarce.
