Hard Cover. Zustand: Acceptable. No Jacket. This is a set of 14 matching books. There is occasional very light foxing, otherwise the interiors are clean and unmarked. Bindings are good. All hinges are good with no splits. End papers are decorated with tiny leaves in green and silver. Covers are red marbled boards with leather spines and tips. Upper page edges are gilded. Leather is chipped at corners and top and bottom of spine. Boards show slight edge wear. A few of the spines have small tears at top or bottom. Each book has over 300 pages and is illustrated.

Hardcover. Zustand: Near Fine. Reprint. Part- morocco with marbled boards, gilt titling and decoration to spines, gilt top edges, decorated endpapers, colour frontis, b&w illstns. In near fine unmarked condition, one volume has slight wear to the crown of the spine. A beautiful set but heavy which will require additional shipping.

One spine edge is significantly chipped with a half-inch loss to the leather, several others are a little chipped. There are some worn-through corners, and some scuffing to the leather. The pages are yellowed with occasional foxing, minor blemishes. The bindings are all intact.

Slight foxing to a few pages, small piece missing to spine v.7. A 10-volume set, with 5 supplementary volumes, of early 20th-century three-quarter leather bindings. Ornate gilt spines with gilt title and volume numbers; the gilt is bright, and the leather exhibits minimal rubbing at spine extremities. Three-quarter leather and marbled paper covered boards are clean; the leather is mostly smooth and supple with several volumes exhibiting leather scuffing/peeling at board corners. Bindings are tight and sound. All volumes have beautiful floral endpapers in silver gilt and green. These volumes are very well illustrated with hundreds of great period photographs of many countries. There are several colored photos throughout. These lectures and their accompanying photographs depict the towns and peoples of these numerous areas as they once existed.
