Hardcover. Illustrations by Erwin L. Darwin. 8vo. Green pebble-grain paper over boards with orange lettering, pictorial dust jacket. 248pp, (3pp ads). Full-page line drawings, pictorial endpapers. Very good/very good. Text block lightly, evenly age toned per usual; jacket faintly edgeworn only, with no edge chips. Exceptional, tight and nice first edition of this volume in the "Fighters for Freedom Series," here involving the WAFS -- Women's Auxiliary Ferrying Services. If a juvenile owner were to have colored both endpapers and many of the line drawings in crayon would you call it "extra-illustrated" or "defaced"? Laid in is the ideal bookmark: Young's original transmittal envelope. An outstandingly unusual copy.…
