Paperback. Zustand: Very Good. First Edition. Adelaide, Advertising Sales Agency, 1927. Oblong tall octavo (153 × 246 mm), 72 pages with numerous illustrations (from photographs) and pictorial advertisements plus advertisements on the covers. Stapled colour-pictorial wrappers lightly marked and creased, with minor loss of plain paper on the spine; an excellent copy. The Duke, in this case, is Albert Frederick Arthur George (1895-1952), King of the United Kingdom and the Dominions of the British Commonwealth from 11 December 1936 until his death in 1952. He was the last Emperor of India and the first Head of the Commonwealth. The Duchess was Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes-Lyon (1900-2002), the mother of Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon. She was Queen consort of the United Kingdom and the Dominions from her husband's accession in 1936 until his death in 1952, after which she was known as Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, to avoid confusion with her daughter. She was the last Empress of India.

Erstausgabe
Paperback. Zustand: Very Good. First Edition. Brisbane, Globe Printing Company and Colless Publicity Services, 1927. Quarto, 80 pages with numerous illustrations (including many portraits from photographs). Wrappers (printed in decorative type in two colours) slightly creased and marked; small puncture to the blank leading margin of the last half of the book; trifling signs of use; a very good copy. The future King George VI 'and his wife visited Australia as the Duke and Duchess of York in 1927. They were the royal representatives at the opening of the provisional Parliament House in Canberra on 9 May 1927. The couple arrived in Australia on 26 March and departed the country on 23 May' (National Archives of Australlia research guide on Royalty and Australian Society). The couple spent seven days in Queensland. An unusual feature of this publication is the large number of potted biographies (with portraits) of 'persons officially connected with the visit'.
