Published in 1907, this is the extremely rare museum catalogue of the contents of legendary Natural History collection housed at Peplow Hall Museum, the core of which was from the museum of the famous Hawkstone Hall collection in Shropshire which was originally formed by the 2nd Viscount Hill (Rowland Hill). When Lord Hill suffered severe financial difficulties in the late 19th century, the estate and its assets were broken up. On the 28thAugust 1904 wealthy industrialist Beville Stanier (later Sir Beville Stanier, MP) purchased the entire collection and relocated it to Peplow Hall. The museum was primarily an ornithological and zoological archive. It comprised a massive collection of British birds, nests, and eggs, alongside mammals, big-game heads, fossils, moths, and butterflies. Notably, it contained several highly significant, rare Shropshire specimens, along with an Emperor Penguin, leopards, crocodiles, and notably, a specimen of the now-extinct Great Auk. Much of the iconic taxidermy in the collection was prepared by the famous Shrewsbury taxidermists, Henry Shaw and John Shaw The catalogue serves as an important record of the contents of the Hawkstone / Peplow Museum as the collection went missing when it was dispersed or lost during the mid 20th century The catalogue is a hardback format with cloth spine measuring 10.5 inches tall approx., internally it runs to 68 pages with the text printed on one side of a page only. Illustrated with a frontispiece illustration of Lord Hill (1800-1875) and a further plate with portraits of Henry & John Shaw who were prominent 19th-century English brothers and professional taxidermists working in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. The book was the author's own personal copy which he has signed on the top right hand corner of the title page. Herbert Edward (H. E.) Forrest (1858-1942) was a prominent Shropshire naturalist, author, and polymath who made immense contributions to documenting the wildlife and historic architecture of Shropshire and North Wales. Born on 18 May 1858, he spent his life immersed in local study and passed away in Bayston Hill, Shropshire, on 6th November 1942. His seminal work was the The Fauna of Shropshire, which stood for over half a century as the primary definitive guide to the region's mammals, birds, reptiles, and fishes. Forrest donated the Peplow Hall Museum catalogue to the Caradoc and Severn Valley Field Club, where he served as a primary force writing the majority of their early annual Record of Bare Facts, which meticulously logged wildlife sightings across the county. Because of his expertise, he was chosen to edit the comprehensive bird chapter for the 1908 edition of the Victoria County History for Shropshire. Loosely inserted into the catalogue is a printed Christmas card in the form of a letter from Beville Stanier the owner of the Peplow Hall Museum The catalogue has some edge rubbing wear and marking to the boards, contents are in nice condition. See the Oxford DNB entry of the recipient James Payn (1830-1898), at the time of this letter the editor of the Cornhill Magazine. More significantly, Payn had since 1874 been a reader for Smith, Elder, and the present letter stems from the firm's interest in Forrest's 'tale of the Indian Mutiny' which they would publish in 1891 under the title 'Eight Days'. 2pp, 16mo. Bifolium with mourning border. In good condition, lightly aged and worn, with short closed tear at edge of postage fold. Addressed to 'James Payn Esqr.' and signed 'R. E. Forrest'. Reads: 'Dear Sir / I have not forgotten my promise to let you see my new novel first. I am at work on it now, but have been a good delayed [sic] by the illness and death of my mother and the having to attend to the winding up of her affairs. I hope I shall make better progress now.'.

Chiefly among them was He's Got the Whole World in His Hands, which was published in 1951 and was dedicated to Marian, who often concluded her recitals with the spiritual, inviting the audience to join in with her.

After Contributing To Fanzines, Potter Began His Career By Doing Covers For Small Press Publications, Beginning With H Warner Munn's Tales Of The Werewolf Clan (1979) For Donald M Grant, And These Have Remained His Main Market, Though He Has Also Done Covers For Major Publishers' Books, Sf Magazines, And Cds. Potter Has Garnered A Unique Reputation For Relying Upon Altered Photographs To Produce Strikingly Bizarre Or Grotesque Images Which Often "Morph" Disparate Elements, Like A Human Head Emerging From A Disembodied Hand Playing The Piano, His Cover For The Winter 1985 Issue Of Night Cry, Or The Woman With Octopus's Tentacles For Hair On The Cover Of Poppy Z Brite's Collection Are You Loathsome Tonight? (Coll 1998). His Art, Unsurprisingly, Is Most Often Found On Works Of Fantasy Or Horror, But Occasional Sf Assignments Can Be Effectively Evocative, Like His Cover For The 1997 Edition Of Ursula K Le Guin's The Lathe Of Heaven (1971), Depicting A Man's Head Merging Into A Devastated Urban Landscape. Klein) is an American horror writer and editor, who, despite his sparse output, is highly regarded for his meticulous prose and provocative essays. He was the acclaimed editor of The Twilight Zone Magazine from 1981 to 1985, and author of the bestselling novel "The Ceremonies" (1984), and the award winning four novella collection "Dark Gods" (1985). "Trauma" is his only screenplay. Dario Argento's underrated first feature-length American production, a giallo horror film wherein Asia Argento stars as Aura, an anorexic young woman, who, with the help of her new young lover David, searches for "The Headhunter" killer responsible for the beheading of both of her parents. Asia Argento's character was partly inspired by her half-sister Anna, who suffered from anorexia and died in a scooter accident shortly before the film's release (and is seen during the closing credits sequence). Featuring memorable performances from Piper Laurie, Frederic Forrest, and Brad Dourif. Set in Minneapolis, shot on location in Minneapolis, Hopkins, and St. Paul, Minnesota.
