Zustand: Fair. 1884. No Edition Remarks. 284 pages. No dust jacket. Red cloth. With a preface and notes, by Stanley Lane-Poole. Pages are lightly tanned and foxed throughout. Cracking to gutters of a few pages with exposed binding. Some pages are uncut to edges. Minor pencil inscription to front free endpaper. Binding remains firm. Boards have mild edge wear with slight rubbing to surfaces. Soft crushing to spine ends. Moderate tanning to spine and edges. Rubbed marking overall, with some staining to spine.

Zustand: Acceptable. Most items will be dispatched the same or the next working day. A readable copy. All pages and the cover are intact (dust cover may be missing). Pages can include considerable notes--in pen or highlighter--but notes cannot obscure the text. Acceptable due to peeling spine and cracking to hinge inside front board. Otherwise good. Textblock tight, and boards scuffed but firm and intact. A few small pen marks in the margins, but text clear throughout. Lovely water marbled page edges and end papers. A great copy for its age.
