Writings on politics, religion, morals, superstition, manners, fashions, humours, literary criticism, tales, hymns, by the famed journalist/writer of the early 1700's. 528 pages, with Index, Bibliographical References, Chronology of Addison's Life, Literature of the Spectator; has owner's signature on fly leaf; used as reference-some underlining and margin notes; page yellowing, some foxing on fly leaves; cover green cloth with decorative black printing and design; small puncture on front, worn at edges, spine and corner bumps, only one break at spine on page xvi; miniscule ink drops on page edges top and bottom. A treasure trove of life in 18th century England.

Zustand: Fair. 1900. No Edition Remarks. 528 pages. No dust jacket. Green cloth. Pages have light tanning and foxing throughout. Previous owner's inscriptions to front free endpaper. Slight cracking to hinges, with exposed netting, pages remain attached. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Slight crushing to spine ends. Marking to both boards.
