Member of Parliament für die Independent Labour Party v. 1892 bis 1918) und Gewerkschaftsführer John Elliot Burns (1858-1943), ein zunächst radikaler unabhängiger Linker im Umfeld des späteren Syndikalisten Tom Mann, mit dem er 1889 den berühmten Streik der Hafenarbeiter organisierte. Burns wandte sich später liberalen Positionen zu. Im Buch befinden sich zeitgenössische Buch und Zeitungsausschnitte sowie zwei Briefe an J. B. v. 8. Januar 1936 und v. 23. Mai 1935, in denen u. a. die Durchführung einer Ausstellung zu Thomas Morus thematisiert wird. Kapital oben leicht bestoßen, Vorsatzblätter teilweise gebräunt und etwas stockfleckig.
