The translation of the 14th-century French text is rendered by American poet W.S. Merwin (1927-2019). And the book itself was printed at the Windhover Press in Iowa City, under the direction of Kim Merker (1932-2013). Handmade white Windhover paper.** Edition of 310 copies, printed between fall 1979 and summer 1981. This is copy 27/50 numbered, signed by the translator and artist, with plates handcolored by the artist.
