En general muy buen ejemplar, completísimo, aunque el primer tercio del primer vol. fue atacado por un punzón, que dejó un milimétrico agujerito a un centímetro del margen inferior. Très bon exemplaire dans l'ensemble, bien complet, bien que le premier tiers du premier volume ait été attaqué par un poinçon, qui a laissé un trou millimétrique à un centimètre de la marge inférieure. Sans importance, la qualité du reste de l'exemplaire minimise ce fait.

Nollet answered that the effluent and affluent flows differ not only in direction, but in velocity and spatial distribution as well.The effluent stream consists of many jets, each of which spreads out into a cone with apex at one of the scattered exit pores. The affluent current, being a hodgepodge of differently directed effluent streams, is approximately isotropic."(Heilbron, p. 284).

Grâce à des démonstrations soigneusement orchestrées avec des centaines d'instruments différents, Nollet parvenait à divertir son auditoire enthousiaste. Il fut le premier, en France, à réaliser des expériences avec la bouteille de Leyde et l'un des premiers à publier la relation existant entre la lumière et les étincelles électriques. À l'instar de son homologue du méridional Bertholon, il traita de l'électricité du corps humain dans l'un de ses premiers ouvrages (publié en 1746). Ses théories sur l'électricité furent, dans l'ensemble, en contradiction avec la plupart des physiciens et philosophes de l'époque, dont Benjamin Franklin.
