Erstausgabe
Hardcover. Small 4to. Red cloth, pictorial price-clipped dust jacket. xvii, 480pp. Frontispiece, illustrations. Very good/good. Jacket heavily, expertly and archivally mended on verso, thus complete and fairly attractive despite edgewear, a few edge chips and light soiling; binding a bit unevenly sunned. Tight and nice first edition of this memoir by this music publisher, which chronicles "the whole overflowing romance of America's Golden Age of musical production" and which the jacket front proclaims as "Fifty Glittering Years of Stage and Song." From the collection of conductor and musicologist Paul Clinton Echols (1944-94).
