Front free endpaper has annotations from Lincoln Brower, a notable conservationist and butterfly researcher. "Lincoln P. Brower copy, 2-7 July 2007, p. 25. Erick Greene." Further annotations on aforementioned page 25 (the abstract for Erick Greene's "Developmental flexibility, phenotypic plasticity and host breadth in Nemoria caterpillars (Geometridae)") and surrounding abstracts, all written by Brower. Notably, as mentioned at the start of this program, the first day of this conference was devoted to "A symposium in honour of Lincoln Pierson Brower," concluding with presentations by Andrew Van Zandt Brower (his son and a biologist), Linda S. Fink (his wife and an ecologist), and Lincoln Brower himself. Aside from Brower's annotations, the pages are clean and bright. Binding is slightly cracked by the title page, leaving it and the next two pages half-detached. All are still firmly attached at the crown of spine, simply loose at the foot. No further damage to binding. We've got a wonderful bookcase or two of books from Lincoln Brower's collection listed here. Everything you know about Monarch Butterflies, you know because of Brower's work, both scientific and outreach. He was a great teacher, an important researcher, a torch-bearing conservationist, and a leading light in lepidoptery. We are extremely excited to offer his books.
