Fotografie
Vintage borderless photograph of director Orson Welles attending a regional preview of the Inter-American Conference on Problems of War and Peace in Mexico City, 1940. With two printed mimeo snipes affixed to the verso. From the archive of the PIX Agency, a photo house that acted as an intermediary between emigre photographers (as well as those still living in Europe) and the American magazine and newspaper market between 1935-1969. In 1941, Welles was appointed as a goodwill ambassador to Latin America by US Coordinator of Inter-American Affairs Nelson Rockefeller, tasked with promoting cultural diplomacy and hemispheric solidarity in the hopes of countering the expanding influence of Axis powers in Latin America. 7.75 x 8.25 inches. Very Good plus overall.
