Unclipped jacket has moderate edge wear with some small tears, chipping and creasing. Some mild rubbing and marking to surfaces.

Edition limited to 1500 numbered copies of which 500 are for sale; 8vo, pp. 18, [172]; 4 folding plates; very fine copy in original green cloth. Fry's firm was founded in Bristol, England in 1764 in partnership with William Pine and was sold in 1828. This Specimen was the last to be prepared by the foundry. It is known by a single copy only, and was probably prepared in connection with the sale of the business. Printed slip from the Printing Historical Society laid in presenting this copy to a member.

Grey paper-covered boards, black buckram back with gilt titling. Dust-jacket just slightly soiled on the spine. A near fine copy with James Mosley's ate of of acquisition by hand in pencil. This impressive work was sponsored and produced by the Lanston Monotype Corporation who presented it to the British Museum for circulation. It was Stanley Morison who got Scholderer to design the New Hellenic type, and it was Morison who designed this book.
