Sm. 8vo., First Edition, with 12 plates, 36 illustrations in the text and pictorial endpapers; original series binding of blue faux-morocco cloth, upper board blocked and lettered in gilt, gilt back, a near fine copy in dustwrapper, THE LATTER WANTING BOTH FOLD-INS. This scarce title in Warne's famous 'Wayside & Woodland' series replaced Worthington-Stuart's 'Collecting & Breeding Butterflies and Moths' (1951). The jacket was a surprise - a colour photograph of the author and his son in the premises of Watkins & Doncaster, the 'butterfly shop'. It was itself later revised under the title 'Studying Insects.
