Extremities rubbed, some crackling along edges of original covers, some light chipping to spine ends and around the edges of the spine labels, vertical surface crack to the spine of volume II, joints/hinges good, text blocks sound, pages clean with some minor offsetting of the plates onto the text pages opposite, a bit of foxing to the margins of some plates, pages very clean and free from names or other markings. . Leather cracked along the hinges of both volumes, with the covers beginning to loosen. Leather mottled, brittle and flaking, rather heavy, along both spines. Interior solid, with two small bookplates present. General browning to the paper. Scattered foxing, heaviest to the endpapers. Minor scattered soiling.
