Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. 1st Edition. Original pictorial boards, 208 printed pages complete with illustrations. Some rubbing to the boards and spine ends, tidy contents with no inscriptions.

Zustand: Acceptable. Most items will be dispatched the same or the next working day. A readable copy. All pages and the cover are intact (dust cover may be missing). Pages can include considerable notes--in pen or highlighter--but notes cannot obscure the text. An acceptable condition annual. A significant crack to the guttering beside the title page that makes the front cover feel loose, hence acceptable. Other typical signs of wear for a children's book of this age including chipping to the cover edges and shallow cracks to the guttering in places. All pages remain secure, and while the margins and textblock edges show minor dust this is a very well-kept annual for it's age besides the gutter crack.

Colour plates, b/w and two-tone illustrations. 208 pages. Bumping and wear to spine, corners and cover edges. Covers grubby with some light scratches and browning. Ink name to front endpaper. Front joint three quarters broken between frontis and title page. A few marks and some fingering to contents but many pages are clean. Packaged with care and promptly dispatched!

Quarto. 9½'' x 7¾''. Contains 208 pp with monochrome, single and twin colour illustrations and 4 full-page colour plates throughout. Pencil message to the front free end paper and in Very Good condition. Playbox 1st series had 2 issues in 1898. Playbox 2nd series ran from 1905-1913.
