Pasted to the recto of front endpaper of all volumes but 'Trout' is a small saying clipped from a newspaper regarding lending books. Blind stamp to the front endpapers for W H Smith and Son. Prior owner's inscription to the half-title of all but 'Trout' volume, R J Ratcliff. Gift inscription to the verso of front endpaper to 'Trout' from an individual named Clifford. 'The Pheasant', 'The Trout' and 'The Hare' are firmly bound. The remaining three volumes have some straining to binding. Pages are generally bright. Occasional pencil annotation and underlining to all volumes by a previous owner. Scattered spotting throughout all volumes, slightly heavier to 'The Hare', 'The Partridge' and 'The Pheasant'.
