Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. Two Phantom Annuals were published by the American publishers King Comics between 1967-9. Both were published in England by World Distributors (Manchester) Ltd. One source states that this was by arrangement with Western Publishing Company, Racine, Wisconsin, U.S.A. and that each Annual consisted of 68 pages. However this present volume was published by World Distributors by arrangement with King Features Syndicate, New York, and it contains 94 pages. I don't know whether that the source I consulted was wrong, that this present version is a different one that has not been noted before, or that it has been noted and I haven't found the reference. The Annual has no date in its title and the copyright date given is 1967 although it is often referred to as the 1969 Annual. The spine has the word "THE" and the publisher's name but the title is missing and the required colours of yellow and orange wrapping round the boards are missing so no colour has been applied to the spine. I can't find it in World Cat. 8 x 10" pp. 94. Very good+ in full colour laminated boards. Contents clear and bright with no marks or stains the exception of some mild foxing to front endpapers and ink dedication on ffep. I wonder whether there are any other copies like this?
