Lambarde is renowned for creating the first topographical history of any English County. He lived and died in Greenwich and was buried there but when the church was demolished his memorial was moved th the church of St.Nicolas in Sevenoaks. xvi, map, 530pp. The covers leave a little to be desired but internally it is clean and tight.…

William Lambarde (1536-1601) was admitted to Lincoln's Inn in 1556, was a writer on legal subjects but is best known for the Perambulations.
