Mit 2 gestochenen Titeln und 202 Stahlstich-Ansichten auf 101 Tafeln. In braun blau marmoriertem Papier broschiert gebunden, mit handgeschriebenen Titelschildchen. Hübsches Ansichtenwerk in der Art des "Spiker", jede Tafel mit 2 gestochenen Ansichten von Bauwerken, Parks etc. Die Stahlstiche sind durch die feingestochene Staffage besonders belebt. Der Herausgeber Pugin (1802-52) war einer der führenden britischen Architekten des 19. Jhdt. Die topogr. und histor. Beschreibungen von L.-T. Ventouillac in Englisch und Französisch. - Papierbedingt etwas gebräunt, stellenweise leicht fleckig.

1831. (Half leather) Very good. Two vols., quarto. Illus. Leather backs, corners, marbled boards, rubbed, show their age, the spines remaining brightly enough gilt titled; joints tender / started. Wear to extremities. Hinges good. Bookplate to marbled endpapers. Both regular and engraved vignette title-pages; Vol.1 contains additionally an engraved title-page dated 1829. Contemporary owner's name to title-pages. Discreet ex-lib rubber-stamps obscured by stickers to title-pages and a couple of places within. Offsetting and foxing.

Sm 4to beautifully bound red half leather with marbled boards and endpapers, gilt spine lettering and edges. 202 pages of continuous pagination. Black and white illustrated plates, 2 hand colored. Good book. Edgeworn with rubbing to the front board and a third of the rear marbled paper worn away. Light dampstaining and toning to about 30 pages in the front. Both volumes have engraved title pages with vignettes and 50 plates, each with 2 views on india paper.
