Otterness' Werke schmücken Parks, Plätze, U-Bahn-Stationen, Bibliotheken, Gerichtsgebäude und Museen weltweit, insbesondere den Rockefeller Park in Battery Park City und Life Underground in der U-Bahn-Station 14th Street Eighth Avenue. 1994 wurde er zum Mitglied des National Academy Museum gewählt.
