In den WarenkorbPlate : 'Eleonore Galigai.' This plate shows a portrait of Leonora Dori Galigai (1571 - 1617). She was a favourite of Marie de' Medici, mother of King Louis XIII of France. Galiga� was married to Concino Concini, Marshal d'Ancre, during Marie's reign as Queen Mother and Regent of France. Original watercolour painting (including lettering) on a vellin type paper. Description: This drawing titled: 'Eleonora Galagai.' mentions Gatine sculp, Lante delt., which is the usual text concerning an engraving after a certain painter. The writing is painted though and this could very well be the design for an engraving made by Dante to be engraved by Gatine as they worked very closely together. Age estimate: 1820.Artists and Engravers: Probably painted by Lante. Louis-Marie Lante (French painter, designer and illustrator; 1789 - ?). Georges Jacques Gatine (French engraver; c. 1773 - c. 1825). Condition: Fine. General age-related toning and light staining. Edges with several small tears and some paper loss, filled / backed by identical paper. Some remains of glue and previous storage on rear. Please study scan carefully.
