It contains a total of 78 essays by historians and archaeologists most closely associated with Provence and the Mediterranean region. The first four essays in the five volumes are devoted to Benoit's life and work. The remaining essays cover archaeological discoveries and the study of finds in Provence, the Maritime Alps, Languedoc, and Liguria, as well as parts of Spain, Sardinia, and Sicily.
