Paperback. Zustand: Very Good. A selection of Jane Bown's best images, edited by her colleague at the Observer, Andrew Billen. From classics such as the cow's eye, which launched her career at Lilliput, and early celebrity portraits, to more recent faces, events and far-away landscapes, this book reveals the honesty of Jane's vision both as a public and a private observer. Her uncluttered approach and firm belief in the use of natural light, coupled with a unique sensitivity towards her subjects has resulted in a lifetime of intuitive and expressive images. From famous faces captured in radiant laughter to scenes as ordinary as a postwoman's picnic, lunch every photograph has an intinacy and compassion. paperback. Zustand: Good. Our good condition books are generally good for reading but not for gifting or collecting. They could have imperfections such as creasing, fanning, inscriptions, margin notes, yellowing, staining on edge or cover or pages, bumps, scuffs, etc etc (sometimes multiple of these). It's a wide category that encompasses anything that isn't almost-new down to anything that is slightly better than poor. We would NOT recommend gifting Good books - these should be considered reading copies. Our books are dispatched from a Yorkshire former cotton mill.
