This includes non-standard variational formulations, higher order discretization schemes, efficient solution procedures, and particularly the most acute problems of robustness, adaptivity and parallelization. The main emphasis is put on the conceptional background and the mathematical theory of the various numerical approaches, but some implentation issues are considered as well.
