Se diferencian en que el primero, en la portada del Antiguo Testamento hebreo lleva, sobre la marca del impresor, la nota ?Ad Regij Sacri operis commoditatem & apparatum?, ausente en los ejemplares detinados a su venta separada, que es el caso de este que ofrecemos. Además, aunque Arias Montano concibió que en el segundo tomo del aparato crítico, séptimo de la Biblia, se incluyese la parte titulada Communes et familiares hebraicæ linguæ idiotismi, tal como lo indica en el texto Ordo librorum de los prolegómenos del tomo primero, lo cierto es que, a la hora de la verdad, esa parte se suministró en el volumen octavo. Baldomero Macías Rosendo señala por un lado que ?el volumen séptimo de la Políglota de Amberes, segundo del Apparatus, es el más interesante desde el punto de vista de la filología bíblica, pues recoge las novedades introducidas respecto al texto de Alcalá tanto en el Antiguo como en el Nuevo Testamento, así como las traducciones latinas interlineales de los textos hebreo y griego del Antiguo y Nuevo Testamento, respectivamente?(1). Y, por otro lado, que .la gran aceptación que tuvo la Biblia Regia, y en particular su Aparato sagrado, en el mundo protestante, precisamente por haber sido cuestionado por la Inquisición de Roma, y más tarde por la española. La inclusión de las obras de Montano en el Índice Expurgatorio Romano de 1607 y la negativa de muchos católicos a aceptar su Biblia fue causa de un enorme éxito en los países protestantes. Pero, sin lugar a dudas, el volumen que gozó de mayor difusión fue el séptimo, segundo del Aparato, con la versión interlineal de Arias Mon.

Terminal flyleaf with elaborately penned inscription: "Isaac Sharpe [flourishes] dono Patris 1719." On the rear pastedown is Sharpe's early "Coll. Mag." bookplate dated April 4, 1683 - possibly the date of his matriculation at Magdalene College, Cambridge. The Greek N.T. starts at the beginning of the volume, and the Hebrew O.T. at the end, with the Greek Apocrypha of 128 pages between them. Each Testament has its own title page, and the mention of the Apocrypha on both suggests that it was intended to form an appendix to either of the Testaments if they were issued separately. See Darlow & Moule 4645 and 5106: "This forms the latter half of the complete Bible in the original languages, with an interlinear Latin translation; the whole reprinted from the Antwerp polyglot"; Voet A2 (p. 320).
