The dustwrapper has some wear to the edges and corners, with a small rips to the spine edge, discolouring, yellow line to back flap. The brown boards appear clean with two small tape stain to back edges, mild bumping to the edges, with clear lettering to the spine, tape stains to inside back covers. Ffep missing, library stamps to title page and reverse side. The binding is firm. The pages are clean and crease free with some tanning. This book has 185 pages. All in all a nice example of this book.

Jonas, published at Kobe, Japan, in 1928. And it still remains today one of the most important works on netsuke. The original edition, however, is excessively scarce. Apparently something under 300 copies were issued. As a matter of fact, we ourselves were unable to discover a single copy in Japan itself after a search of some fourteen years.
