(no dust jacket) [front hinge a little weak, small grease-pencil scribble on front endpaper, slight bumping to top corners but generally a nice-looking copy, with gilt spine lettering still bright and easily readable]. (B&W film stills) Full scenarios for three silent feature films,…each preceded by a 4-6 page introduction and a cast list. A KISS FOR CINDERELLA (1925) starred Betty Bronson (depicted in two of the book's four still photos) and was based on the play by James M. Barrie; it was directed by Herbert Brenon (who doesn't rate a mention in the introduction). THE SCARLET LETTER (1926) starred Lillian Gish and Lars Hanson, and was directed by Victor Seastrom. THE LAST COMMAND (1928) was directed by Josef von Sternberg and starred Emil Jannings; it was one of two films (the other being THE WAY OF ALL FLESH) that earned Jannings the first Academy Award for Best Actor.
