This wonderful 25 x Volume set of Waverley Novels comes in a branded slightly faded olive green, cloth covered box, with lift up lid and drop down front section. All books are in really good condition, normal wear and marks apply consistent with use and age. The branded box is a tad faded and worn, with small wear to top, showing a white mark. All books are beautifully black leather bound, only three of the twenty-five books, don't have their dust jackets. The other twenty-two books have dust jackets which states on the front cover of the dust jackets they are of India Paper. All books have silk bookmark attached. Each book measures 11cms wide x 1.5cms deep x 16cms tall. Please note that this is a large heavy boxed set of books and therefore postage/shipping may increase from listed price depending on final destination. I have put down the published date as 1901 however a couple of the books are dated 1902 and one is 1900. A stunning collections of novels that are worth preserving for future generations and just a nice set of books in a fabulous branded box. Ideal for collector's of Sir Walter's Scott's books.

Hardy Welsby, The Grange, Southport'. Welsby has also inscribed his name in ink to the front free endpaper, dated 1882. Welsby co-founded Hesketh golf club in Southport. There is another ink inscription to the top edge of the same page by 'Emma Herring', beneath which Coela Harrison and Rosemary Herring's names can be found, dated 1919 and 1948 respectively next to their relation to Emma Herring. The rear hinges are starting to volumes II, III and XVI, and the hinge is a little loose to III. The front and rear hinges are also starting to volume I, and the binding at the front and the rear of the volume is a little loose as a consequence. Otherwise, volumes are firmly bound. Aside from some light foxing to the front and the rear of the volumes, and to the plates and their surrounding pages, pages are bright and clean. Very Good. book.
