Erstausgabe
Hardcover. Zustand: Fine. First Edition. Julius Shulman (1910-2009) was a legend in the field of photography and the world of architecture. His photography of what we now refer to as Mid-Century Modern Architecture that took hold in the United States helped build a movement that celebrated clean lines and views of the world from within and just as stunning views of the building looking in. During his active years, between 1936 and 2009, it is likely that Shulman reached more individual viewers than any other. This production lives up to his work. Spread over three volumes covering the years 1939-1958, 1958-1964, and 1964-1981 short essays on Shulman and his work. 1,008 pp. Folio. Light tan cloth boards with color embossed titling to each spine, a different color for each volume that corresponds to Shulman's name printed on the cover as well as the color of endpapers in each volume. A large Julius Shulman photograph fills the cover of each volume. 1,500 color and black & white photographs. No dust jackets, as issued. Large cloth covered slipcase of matching cloth with photographs of Volume 1 and 3 applied to exterior has slight scuffing and soiling from shelf wear and is in Very Good condition. A very heavy set, will require additional postage.
