I with woodcut device, other volume titles with engraved devices. Text and plates generally very crisp and clean with only very minor occasional spotting and browning, in vol. III 3 plates a bit browned and foxed and a long clean tear w/o loss in pp. 357/8 and 359/60, plate IV in vol. V shaved at bottom costing the frame, pp. 108-9 of vol. V soiled. Provenance: Claude-Ignace de Barante (bookplate to front-pastedown of each volume).
