Part 1- pp1-24, part 2- iv + pp1-136, part 3- pp1-24 (missing title page and table of contents) part 4-pp1-19 + 1 page advertisement and 'Mizraim'- pp1-29 + 1 fold out chart and 1 b/w plate. Hardcover no dust jacket. Binding of full black morocco with gilt titles to spine and gilt dentelles to inside boards in good condition with some rubbing to edges of spine and boards. Inside previous owners inscription in pen to front free end paper, written on title pages to parts 1 and 2 "EW bullinger from the authoress". Presumably this is E.W. Bullinger 1837 -1913 (Ethelbert William Bullinger AKC, an Anglican clergyman, biblical scholar, ultradispensationalist theologian and author of 'The Witness of the Stars' and other works). There are some later notes to margins in pen to pages 9-23 in part two, the fold out chart has old tape repair and another small tear to side with foxing to plate and surrounding pages, otherwise all pages with full edge gilt in very good clean condition. 'Mazzaroth' explores the significance and symbolism of the constellations in the context of divine revelation and biblical prophecy. Rolleston contends that the constellations hold a deeper spiritual meaning that has been obscured by associations with pagan mythology and a lack of understanding of their original intent. Generally believed to be the signs of zodiac and by passing through each sign, a person with a full understanding of the constellations and their meanings can interpret God's message, the book was published in its entirety in 1865, a year after her death, which would make the inscriptions possible as parts 1,2 + 3 were published in 1862.
