[vi], 217pp., frontispiece and other full-page and in-text black and white illustrations by Robert Hodgson. Robert Geoffrey Trease (1909-1998) was a prolific British writer who published 113 books, mainly for children. Mike Maythorn was bored with town streets, and started out for the hills one Saturday in search of something different. He was not disappointed - there was the archaeological dig he found in progress, and he made a new friend win Sandra, a very different type from the girl next door. The book is bound in the original maroon boards with gold titling on the spine. The case of the book is in excellent condition and the contents are tight and clean with a small crease across the top corner of pages 159 to 170 and a water stain on about 1" of the top edge of the text block near the spine. There is no inscription. The dustwrapper has shelf wear with light soiling and some staining on the spine (mostly visible on the reverse of the wrapper). The spine ends are lightly bumped with a little damage to the bottom rear spine corner and there is some damage from lifting of the top layer of paper on parts of the top front edge. The front flap has been price clipped and there is a later price sticker beside the clip.

Dustwrapper is edge rubbed, very slightly grubby to rear panel with a crease and light stain to rear flap. Packaged with care and promptly dispatched!

Bump at head of spine. Small white scuff mark [approx. 0.6cm] to dust jacket at front bottom edge. Dust jacket slightly creased at tail of spine. Some rubbing wear to fore corners dust jacket. Some discolouration/shelf wear to white paper of rear dust jacket.
