Ernsthaft und doch humorvoll setzt er typische Darstellungsweisen von natürlichen Prozessen neu in Szene und bezieht sich dabei auf Kunstgeschichte, Philosophie und ökologische Debatten. Seine Arbeiten vereinen disparate Genres wie die Malerei der Romantik, Land Art und digitale Visualisierung und wollen vertraute Gegensätze wie Natur/Kultur, Darstellung/Erfahrung, Ideologie/Ästhetik unterlaufen. Der Betrachter weiß beispielsweise nicht, ob es sich bei den Bildern um Fotografien eines Naturschauspiels handelt oder aber um digitale Visualisierungen einer künstlichen Landschaft: In der Installation Das Eismeer zeigt ein Bild Eisberge als leblose, in fahlem Licht inszenierte Hollywood-Sets, und der Betrachter wird aufgefordert, den Blick auf die Miniaturnachbildung eines Meisterwerks im Gefrierfach eines Kühlschranks mit einem Schluck von dem dort ebenfalls gekühlten Bier zu verbinden.
