Paris, Poulet-Malassis, 1862. 1 vol. petit in-8, reliure ancienne demi-chagrin rouge à coins, dos à cinq nerfs orné de filets dorés, tranche supérieure dorée. Très bel exemplaire, en reliure apparemment contemporaine très décorative, de cette édition originale du premier livre de Léon Cladel. Cette édition, imprimée en novembre 1861 mais parue sous le millésime 1862, n'aurait été tirée qu'à 500 exemplaires et est recherchée pour l'importante préface de Charles Baudelaire (XII pages) également en édition originale.…

Édition originale de ce roman, premier ouvrage de Léon Cladel. Il est surtout célèbre grâce à la préface rédigée par Charles Baudelaire à la demande de son éditeur, Poulet-Malassis, la seule qu'il écrira. Ex-libris Guy Seligmann.
