Signed and dated Dec. 23, 1823 by the other owners Joseph Edwards, of Newburyport, Mass., Samuel Walton and Samuel Marsh, of Salisbury, Mass., and Lowell Brown,… of Hampton Falls, N.H., the agreement gives Graves full power "to grant, bargain, sell, and convey to any person or persons . the whole or any part of the said Brig America" or her effects. The America is "now lying in the river Merrimack.".
